Cricket in the Gers - the facts!

Welcome to cricket in Armagnac-Bigorre!

 /

First things first - where in heaven’s name is Armagnac-Bigorre? Well, not in England, the ’alleged’ home of cricket. Armagnac-Bigorre can be found in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France, roughly Map of our regionencompassing the Départments of Gers (as in ’chairs’, not as in ’jurs’ or ’gurs’) and Hautes-Pyrénées, the home of some of France’s most spectacular natural beauty. To get an idea of where we are, find a map of France that includes Toulouse and look west!

Our region is typified by fields of sunflower, wheat and maïs, bathed in sunshine for up to 300 days a year and all this in the shadow of the magnificent Pyrénées.

This website will tell you who we are, where we play, whom we play against, how often we win (or not!!), and will give you an opportunity to play with us when the opportunity presents itself, even if you are an occasional visitor to the Midi-Pyrénées. You could even play as a regular for Armagnac-Bigorre C.C. if you live in our ’coin’ and weren’t aware of our existence.

Whatever your level of ability, even if you have never played cricket before, you can expect a very warm welcome!

If you want to know anything about us, just drop us a line and we will respond as soon as possible.
